About Vero Beach

Considered the crown jewel of the Treasure Coast, there are countless reasons why Vero Beach has been ranked "Best Small Town in Florida" and "12th Best Small Town in America."

Residents and visitors enjoy the area's tropical climate, casual sophistication, high quality of life and abundance of social, cultural and recreational activities. Vero Beach offers small town charm reminiscent of Old Florida, a thriving arts community, historical landmarks, eclectic boutiques, fantastic cafes and restaurants, tranquil beaches and a number of wildlife and nature preserves along the Indian River -- the most biologically diverse estuary in North America. Restrictive zoning has allowed the island to resist development of high rise hotels and large commercial centers in order to maintain its peaceful, friendly village atmosphere.

Vero Beach hosts several fabulous community events. Visit the Farmers' Market Oceanside held each Saturday, and enjoy the free Sunset Saturday Night Concert Series that takes place at Humiston Park the second Saturday of each month. Other popular events include The Taste of Vero, Hibiscus Festival, Art Shows and the renowned Celebrated Speaker Series and International Lecture Series.

Vero Beach is the county seat of Indian River County, recognized as the "Citrus Capital of the World" and nicknamed "The Gateway to the Tropics."
